door sill trim removal again 120-130

Anyone got pix they can post of the top of a 122 door where the the stainless window sill trim attaches? Inside of the sill trim as well.

I am trying to take the trim off and although several posters have explained the procedure, I can't get em loose and rather than tearing them up, a little look at what confronts me, that I cannot see, would be very useful.

Thanks

Mike

I know you said you had info on how it is done but I just put them back on the wagon project a few days ago. They are held in place by three flexible wires that are inserted horizontally into a slot on the top of the door with pressure placed on the outer lip curl and the inner side lip is slid over the metal window frame and held down in place by the rubber vent and quarter windows. To remove them take out the vent and quarter windows lift up on the inner side lip and they will come off. It took a fat screw driver to get mine up as there was some rust in the past. I learned the hard way that it helps to have some masking tape on the paint around the edges of the window frame since the rubber trim pieces were worn and it was sharp metal to new paint :(
And if my description sounds easy...it was a big pain in the a@#!

When you put it back, make sure the flexible wires are curved down on the outside or your trim will flex up and you will have to start over.

If your talking about a 4 door or wagon I could loan you the factory body manual that shows how it's done. I'm in Victoria B.C.

      Thanks Jim

If you could scan the page(s) at 150 DPI greyscale it ought to be about 450 or 500 KB and that would be great. My E-mail is on the about me page.

      Thanks again

      Mike
