Please tell me about the V90 900

While I own two(2) 940's and am quite pleased, I am a bit intrigued by the V90. Several reasons.
I like real rain gutters to hold my surfboard racks to hold my precious longboards at highway speeds. I love Volvo's esecially wagons.
It appears to be the top of the food chain for the RWD bricks(model year 98). Is it the most gussied up version of the 960?
What are the pitfalls in the 97-98 model year?
How do they match up against my 940s?

Dotto what they all said...The V90 has a wonderful "European" rack system accessory kit (see the dealer though)to hold everything from bikes to skies to boards...its also quite luxurious inside and as sporty as a wagon can be off the line and cruising. I like mine very very much!

What is the reliablity of the 24 valve six vs. the "red block" four in my pair of 940s?

Can't say aboput reliability, don't have one. Gathered from this board are these tips:

Interference engine, means absolute perfect maintenance on the timing belt.

Aluminum block and head, means proper coolant used every time.

Others hereabouts seem to love them.

Good Luck,

Bob

Yes, the S90 (Sedan) and V90 (Wagon) are basically late model 960s. Same engine, body, transmission etc. Not sure if the suspension is exactly the same and they may have made some minor cosmetic changes (as they do year by year with all their models), but is is really the same car.

I looked at a V90 the other day and thought it was a 960. Looked excactly like my '96 960. I think they are just renamed but I could be wrong. I believe the 850 was called a V70. I love my 960 with a passion. It is the finest car I have owned. Paul
