Tunnel for overdrive transmission upgrade

Anybody have a junk 122 or 1800 they'd be willing to cut the tunnel out of for my 444 overdrive conversion? Also any help on fabricating a new tunnel would be nice.

Tunnel for overdrive transmission upgrade

When I put a Buick V6 and a 700r4 automatic in my 58 444, I fabricated the entire inside tunnel from sheet metal and attached it with sheet metal screws. I sealed the seams with silicone and when done I got some stuff called "Ice Sheild" (which is used up North here as the first layer at the bottom when doing a shingle job.) The older stuff was plain and is like a stickey rubber sheet. Place it over the metal and hit it with a heat gun and it bonds to the floor. It works great as a sound deadner. The newer stuff has small pebbles on it like shingles. To keep from buying a whole roll of the stuff, contact a local roffing contractor and see if you can purchase enough for your job only.
A good way to make templates for the floor fabrication is to use some poster board and cut and shape it to fit, then transfer it to sheet metal, Preferably galv. metal for rust prevention.
Good luck,
Dennis
