The only thing I can think of that would make your fan stay on continually is that your thermo switch (located in the top, passenger side of the radiator) is stuck in the "on" position. With your ignition switch on, take one of the two wires connected to it loose, and the fan should then cut off. Actually, if it doesn't cut off at that point, it would mean that a PO has somehow by- passed the thermo switch. If it does cut off when you disconnect one of the wires, then you can simply replace the switch for a permanent repair. And don't be surprized if the fan rarely to never comes on again; the car has to get very hot for the fan to come on (as in pulling a heavy trailer in July).
The assumption I am making is that your fan comes on with the engine cold, as well as with the engine hot. If it comes on only when the engine is hot, that could mean that you are operating at abnormally high coolant temps, but that is doubtful.
Finally, when you locate the thermo switch (a plug kind of thing sticking in the radiator), be sure the two wires are attached to it. There is the possibility that for some reason a PO has disconnected the wires from the switch and permanently connected them together so the fan stays on all the time. Have no idea why anyone would do this, but it is a possibility.
Hope this disjointed note helps!
