Quiet Ride Sought...

Have replaced shocks/struts, trailing arm and a few other bushings, new tires, stuffed foam in shift hole(that helped with cruising noise immensely)...BUT...

I think much of the remaining perception of ride discomfort comes from the sheer amount of noise produced when loose crap inside and out jumps up and down with every bump. For example, I know the glove box door is loose and is one of these things.

My question to the experienced (which I am not) is what are the biggest and most common culprits (like the glove box door) that flop around and make all the racket when the car jumps?

I think these things make it SEEM like the ride is much harsher than it actually is. A quiet car is tight inside and out, but I need to discover all the sources that must be secured to prevent movement--and thus noise.

Thanks in advance for any guidance...

    Quiet Ride Sought...

Hello Volvocrates; The ones that made a big difference in noise reduction/ride quality on my 240, other than telling the kids to put a sock in it, was front control arm bushings, sway bar link kits, steering u-joints and new transmission linkage bushings. Good luck!
