any thoughts on using steel brake lines? 900 1994

I was looking through IPD's catalog and thought, if their claim is true, this would be a decent way to firm up brake pedal feel much like my recently sold 240. Brake response on that car was outstanding; probably the best on any car I have ever had.

I'll be replacing the brake lines on my 945T soon. (the originals are starting to show cracking from age) I'll be replacing them with stainless steel lines. Not for a performance advantage, but because they will be more durable/will last longer. I want these to be the last set of lines I install on this car!

If you are not into performance, steel brake lines are actually not a good choice. The braided stainless steel surface tend to trap dirt, water, salt in and speeds up the deterioration of the brake line inside. Also, with a braided steel cover, it's hard to check cracks or other defects to the brake line inside.

It's my understanding that the Teflon used for the lines doesn't dry out like rubber. Granted, I've never owned a car with SS braided lines... so I'm open to more informed opinions.
