This might be a REALLY dumb question ..... 140-160 1974

.... but does anyone know how to remove the glove compartment lid from a '74 model 140 ?

I want to replace it with an alloy panel to mount my rally navigation gear (tripmeter, stopwatches, compass etc) on, but I can't figure out how to take it off !

Have undone all likely-looking screws in the vicinity, but nothing seems to work. (I am probably missing something really obvious.)

The "butchering / brute force" option is the second-last resort - ahead of removing the entire dash ....

All suggestions welcome !

Dave

The lower flap is "L"-shaped and sandwiched between two metal crossmembers, for some reason.
You have to loosen the two to slip it out.

Thank you !!

Got it figured out - with a bit of judicious leverage from a FBS (fu%#ing big screwdriver .... )

Yet another piece of "over-engineering" by the boys at Volvo :o)
