Dana 27 or 30 ? 120-130

Hi,
I was wondering when volvo changed from the Dana 27 diff to the 30 on the Amazon. Is it with the new rear suspension setting? I have a '65 sedan, so which one do I have (it's not an ENV axle)? And what would prevent one to put a later diff in the '65 casing? I have a '69 axle in stock and was wondering if a swap was possible?
Thanks for the answers! Séb

27 : halfshafts tubes outer diameter = 57 mm = 2.25";
30 : halshafts tubes diameter = 63.5 mm = 2.5";
65 sedan could be a 27, but best to measure tubes.
brgds,
john

Yours should have the dana/spicer 27. Change came in late '66 or with introduction of '67. The axle shafts *might* interchange, and the outer brake parts will, though if you have the early brakes, you'd have to change the whole backing plate. but the pumpkin guts are completely different. Well.. they look similar, but the dana 30 is bigger.
