which shock choice is best to restore original feel to 944T? 900

there is significant nose dive during braking. since the car is a turbo I suspect the spring rate is firmer than non-turbo yet these shocks are dead. what recommendations are there for near stock comfort? I do not need to lower it, pimp it, etc.

Don't forget Bilstein Touring shocks, slight stiffer than Turbo gas but probably cheaper and better built.
My 97 960 has monoshock struts, probably Bilsteins or a Boge "copy".
They are stiff but make it a true sports/touring sedan.

I am literally having my front struts replaced today on my 92 965. They're putting on the Boge Turbo Gas models, according to IPD they are an upgrade from original equipment. The tech said he would not install Bilstein's, way too stiff, and he says KYB stands for Keep Your Boge's. Sorry, must be tech humor. Check out IPD's catalog or website, www.ipdusa.com. They have a short thumbnail sketch of each of the shocks and their expected performance including original equipment shocks.

I've tried Boge Pro Gas on one turbo car and they are just a little too soft. Boge Turbo Gas on the other turbo is just right; the Bilstein HDs on the third are too stiff.

I believe 740 turbos and 940 turbos left the factory with Boge Turbo Gas (?) Therefore, this would confirm your observation that the Turbo Gas shocks are just right :) Makes sence to me. I don't think I've ever driven a brick with new Boge Turbo Gas shocks, I wonder how they compare to my KYBs....Probably a little more forgiving, but softer handling.....

The 95 turbos have softer shocks than Turbo Gas, which were OEM in my kid's 92 940T. I think it varied by year.
