buying virgos 200

I found a set of virgos for sale, and had a few questions. First off, is there anyway for me to check and see if they're straight, other than a visual inspection for obvious bent spots. Also, from the picture I've seen, they look more like a charcoal grey than the aluminum finish I've seen before. Were there different finishes available, or is it likely that someone painted them (or the picture is just bad). Anything else I should look for/pay attention to when I go see them/buy them? Thanks!

Easier (?) than that is to jack up a 240, install one wheel at a time with a couple/three lug nuts and spin them by hand looking for imperfect roundness at teh bead (a little is OK) and wobble around the axis of rotation, a big no-no. About 50% of old Virgos are bent to the point where I would not want them on a car.

Most likely, someone painted them. As far as I know, they came in one color. I have seen some of the darker grey virgos, and they look good, so dont let that discourage you. As far as them being bent, if you are looking at a picture, there is no real way to tell. If you can actually see them in person, you can spin them and give yourself a reference point that doesnt move. If it wobbles, it is bent. Good luck.

Thanks...I think the dark color might look good, I'm planning to lose the rest of the chrome on my car anyway. And I'm going to go check them out this weekend, so I can check out condition before I hand over my money.
