Help Looking for an Interior panel 900 1993

After calling the recycle yards I know with no luck, I decided to do the sensible thing and ask on Brickboard.

The PO evidently bolted a cell phone to the right edge of the center console. So, my 945T (butterscotch/tan interior) came with many extra ragged holes in the panel that forms the right edge of the console and continues to the firewall (on the left side of the passenger footwell). Any suggestions about where to check, or even better, does anyone have one I can buy? Thanks.

    Surely there are junkyards in the Chicago area with a car with this part, when you called them did the say they didn't have any dashes, or just no 900 series Volvos?

    The cheap way to fix it would be to smooth out the holes as well as possible (exacto knife, and maybe light sandpaper?), fill them with some type of putty or caulk, then paint the putty / caulk the same color as your interior (pick up a quart of cheap paint, have them match the color to your interior (taking in a piece from your dash somewhere).

      I've called the yards in metro Chgo who I know recycle Volvos, and they don't have this part. I would rather avoid patching, but I may have to do just that.

        Dear Jim,

        Good a.m.and may this find you well. Which panel do you need? Is is on the driver's side of the front center console or the passenger's side of the front center console? I presume you need a panel, that is beside the front center console, and not the panels, that are next to the front doors.

        There is a salvage yard not far from me, close to which I'll need to be, this afternoon (Friday, 29 Oct 04). I'm sure they won't charge much for the panel (though they have a $25 minimum, which sometimes they waive for me, as I'm a long-time customer). They let me remove the parts I seek, as I do so carefully,i.e., without damaging anything else.

        I'll not gather anything for you, that is not cosmetically perfect: that would be a waste of the shipping costs. I also pack as if the shipment is going to be delivered, by parachute extraction from the ramp of a C-130.

        Let me know exactly what you need, and I'll see if I can find it.
