two questions from a poor, technically challanged soul.. 700

1.is a turbo the same thing as a supercharger?
2. i have a '93 f-250 truck and i put an oil cooler on it . its a gizmo that screws in between the oil filter and the block with 2 hoses that go to the a small heat exchanger that in mounted in front of the radiator. seems to work okay (hard to tell, but the engine is fine). is this the kind of thing that would be worth while installing in my '90 760 turbo wagon?
tia, flaps.

Flaps,

A turbocharger is technically a turbine powered supercharger. Most of the time, when people talk superchargers, they're talking about belt or gear driven blowers that receive power directly from the engine. Turbos use spent exhaust gases, and are thought to be more efficient from that perspective.

700 series turbos have oil coolers installed at least since 1989. I have a 1989 760 Tic wagon and it has the cooler.

FYI, my 1986 760T also has an oil cooler.

1) no, but similar in function. The supercharger runs off the crankshaft from a belt. The turbo runs from exhaust pressure driving a turbine.

2) Not totally sure on this but i know my 244T came with one already. Your car might have it, someone please correct me if i am wrong.
