Cleaned injectors, seems rough on low end 700 1988

My first attempt at cleaning injectors:
1.Put 2.4 volts on contacts and used a Phoenix brake bleeder to inject cleaning fluid through.

2. Put in seal kit from NAPA, $3.99 each.

3.Buttered each o-ring with dow/corning 111 silicone grease. Inj. easily dropped in after manifold holes were cleaned out.

4.I broke the needle tip off on 1 injector but it is still visible.

5.The 88 760 wagon bogs down when starting off until about 20 mph, sounds like a vacuum leak to the distributor. I need to follow it out.

Do I have to get a new injector? Any idea which vacuum line I may have missed.

I have an exhaust leak near the turbo header area which makes a clicking noise. I can't tell from above what is loose.. Could it be a turbo problem?

The nedle tip of the injector vibrates to aid in the fuel atomization. Sounds like you should head out to the junk-yard for a replacement.

There are no vacuum lines going to the distributor. There are a couple of lines along the top of the firewall. Check the line to the heater control valve also. Check to make sure the vacuum fitting is installed properly in the brake booster.

The exhaust leak is likely one of the manifold gaskets where it attaches to the head.

Just a comment: Hope you didn't apply too much silicone grease to the O-rings. Silicone contamination of the O2 sensor is a well advertised failure mode.

    Good Luck,
    Dan

With the engine running, disconnect the electrical-connector to the broken injector and see if the idling gets worse. If it dosn't, then that injector is not functioning correctly.

Having said that - if you know you've broken the tip you should plan on replacing it.

I did disconnect the plug and it does get rough when off. I never heard about not using silicone for that reason however it was just a light application.
