1989 760 head gaskets 700 1989

1989 760 gle,, 173 ,000 m

ok, i think theres water in the oil. if there is do i change both head gaskets or just one?? hope i can just do one,, the left one as im not that skilled with this kind of stuff.

is there any way to make sure it is water and not sand since it sat for 2 months and im in las vegas. any help is appreciated,,,

    You may get better advice by checking with the Pegueot guys. There's a fairly active Peugeot list on yahoo groups..

    Hello:

    You need to be sure that it is the head gasket and not the gasket(s) at the bottom(s) of the cylinder liner(s). I know you need to be careful removing the heads on these cars so that the cylinder liner gaskets are not disturbed. You may want to consider timing belt chains at the same time, given your mileage. In fact, you may want to consider looking for a good used B280F... I don't know about doing one or both-- I'm sure somebody will speak up who knows more than me...
