popping noise from driver's side shock area 200

There's a "popping" noise that comes from the front driver's side shock area, especially when it's cold, when you go over bumps, or brake hard. Any ideas? Thanks. Patrick

I wish I knew. I get the exact same thing on both of my 1993s, but not on my 1990. Have never been able to figure it out.

I bought my sedan new and it's done it since day one, beginning when the weather gets cold. My wagon, which I bought used with 96,000 miles on it a year ago, also does it. It is very curious.

Strange. Must be a 1993 thing. It's quiet in the Summer, though.

If you sit on the front drivers side fender and jump up and down can you reproduce the noise? That makes it much easier to find. Mine was a top strut nut that wasn't tightened down properly. It could also be the bolts that hold the a-arm to the car, ball joints or bushings. The rear A-arm bushing seem to be the one that goes.
