Lights out in the back! Help! 200 1993

My recently purchased 1993 240 wagon has some lights out in the back. The fog lights, license plate illumination, and regular night driving lights; all out. The bulb-out indicator does not come on, so I was not aware of this until a cop pulled me over to give me a warning. Where do I begin to look for a solution to this problem?
