Cannot get the bottom mounting bolt off alternator 200

I'm replacing the alternator on my '92 245 and cannot get the damn bottom bolt out! It just keeps turning and turning without ever really moving forward!

any advice?

Remember to remove the ground cable from the battery and watch for a ground wire from the back of the alternator to the engine. Use a mirror to look for it. It can break if you try to lift out the alternator with it still connected. Be sure to reconnect it when your finished or strange things happen.

i think you need to hold the nut on the other end with some sort of wrench

I think you need a 13mm for one end and a 12mm for the other- but sometimes hardware gets changed. Also helps if you remove the oil filter, lots more room to work.
