How to ID auto trans? 900

How do I tell which tranny I have? I was given the choice of AW71 or AW72. Thanks for the info. Paul

How to ID auto trans? 900

Go under the car. On the side of the tranny just above the pan is a metal label. Clean it off with carb cleaner so you can read it. It will say something like this:
Model #03-70L
1208-604
Serial #89LK80337

The above is an AW70L (with lock up torque converter)
It was manufactured in 1989.

AW40? 900

Keeping in mind that I know little about transmissions, per the above table you have AW40 (A341E). This is your 965, right?

By the way, any idea on how to make the above link "clickable"? ( and don't work on this board).
