Swapped a Bosch Blue coil for stock in my '88 745T 700

I swapped out the original coil in my '88 745T for a Bosch Blue. It's supposed to have a hotter spark, I think. I had to make a homemade "adaptor" to make the coil wire fit. I am still using the inline stock resistor.

So far, this seems to have solved my pinging problem.

Anyone else done this or see a problem with doing this?

Thanks,

Adam

the blue coil will break down soon enough, it has less guts than a stock coil for the ignition on the car. just get the right coil and it will last another 15-20 years. i've seen new blue coils cause running problems out of the box, not enough voltage available. good luck, chuck.
