weak spark - no start 200

I am having starting problems again. It's happened several times over the last 10 months. Fuel pumps both run when jumpered. New relay. Good 25 amp fuse in watertight holder. Had the fuel pressure checked last Spring and it was good. Last night had my son crank it while I held a new spark plug grounded to the exhaust manifold. It had a weak spark.
Would a weak spark cause the system to not deliver fuel? Other than the cap, rotor, & wires, what should I check for weak spark?
My next step will be to try starting with pumps jumpered.
Thanks for the help.

the cap and rotor should be bosch, the wires should be oe or boigicord-not bosch. if that's ok and the coil has 12v to work with and the trigger is always there on terminal 1, then the coil is weak. get the right 1, any old coil won't do for long. get the same number that's on yours. good luck, chuck.

It could be your ignition coil has died on you. If it starts to fail you get a weak spark. It is also a common cheap part at the auto part stores.

Make sure there is 12 Volts at the + coil terminal with the ignition on. You can also momentarily touch a grounded wire to the - coil terminal to generate a spark without running the engine. The rotor will have to be lined up with the desired plug.
