Any advantage to Magnecor Plug wires? 700 1990

In preparing my winter cars for colder midwest temps, I'm considering Magnecor wires, probably the 8.5 ones, for one car. Anyone have experience with them, or info about pros/cons? Thanks.

Had them on my 745T and I just pulled them and replaced them with Volvo OEM units. I must have spent a small fortune tracking down a miss. It ended up being the wires. After spending close to $100 for the wires this spring they were the last thing I checked. Replaced the coil, power stage, AMM, cap, rotor, fuel and radio relays only to find it was the wires. I was going nuts trying to find out why I was having a miss when the engine was running for 3 or more hours. I got a hint that the wires were the problem when I read a post over at Turbo Bricks concerning a quality problem with Magnecor wires on his car. Then a few other posters piped up with their past problems with the wires. I yanked them off and put on factory units and the miss is gone. My advice is don't waste your money stay with the OEM wires.

Well, they look good under the hood. After reading Al's post it's unlikely I'll buy any more. They have a 'lifetime warranty'; wonder if it really works.

Mine have been on 20k miles and seem OK.

IPD's copywrighters are pretty good. The guy on the phone said "you probably won't be able to tell the differance over stock wires." I was hoping they would last a lot longer. Oh well........where did I put that warranty info...
