Need BOSCH part number off the Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR) from an 85-88 Non-Turbo 740 please... 700

If any of you have an 85-88 740 Non-Turbo with a 2.2. LH-Jetronics (identified by the black-pastic idle-adjustment thumbscrew on the throttle-body), could you please read the BOSCH Part Number off the FPR (the round spherical component at the end of the injector-rail - see picture below) and let me know what it is ? The numbers would typically be one of those below:

0 280 160 225
0 280 160 292
0 280 160 294

I'm getting conflicting anwsers form Volvo dealers: Some (including FcpGroton)say 292, others 294, IPD & Bosch says 225.

Also stamped on the FPR (on the opposite side of the part #) is the pressure-specification. The 294 has 3.0 bar stamped on it. The 225 is rated for 2.5 bar. Not sure what the 292 is rated for. If you can find the pressure reading as well that would be great.

Finally - how would the engine be affected by using an FPR with a higher pressure rating (like 3.0 instead of 2.5) ?

Thanks,

Noel

Noel,

My 88 240 w/B230F N/A , with Bosch 2.2 LH Jetronic is running a #292 FPR. This is the original factory installed regulator. I assume the 740 B230F with the same injection system and ECU would also use the same #292. Running a three bar when a 2.5 is factory stock may cause your Brick to run rich. My 87 745T uses a three bar but with different injectors, etc. from the N/A version. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I have a 225 (2.5 bar) around that I will probably install. It's wierd the Volvo dealers I check with recommend the 3-bar 294 (some even say it supersedes the 292 / 225 even though both are 2.5 bar).

Noel
