87 240 shift indicator arrow 200 1987

does anyone know how to either disconnect or adjust the shift arrow on my standard 240? Since changing the fan motor, it works erradicaly and is distracting. Thanks

Just reach up in behind and pull the bulb. Problem solved. The bulb holders come out with a quarter turn.

If you have an owners manual, it describes how to "reprogram" the shift indicator. Basically unplug the battery. Run the engine in each gear for about 8-9 seconds and it is supposed to reprogram. I have been trying to figure mine out as well. It seems to not want to be reprogrammed.

On this non-SRS car, it doesn't take but 2 seconds to remove the bulb in the cluster :)
