Yellow Peril - no start, plugs wet. MAP sensor??? 140-160 1973

I guess that pretty much says it. We wore out one fuel pump and plugged
one pre-pump filter with dirt from the tank. Looks like we musta got most
of it because the filter is now staying fairly clean (clear plastic before the
pump). Ben called up yesterday morning and said that the engine would not
idle. He was able to drive the car over here (3 miles) by keeping his foot
on the gas. Now, no matter what, the spark plugs are wet. I put in the only
other MAP sensor that has any chance at all of working and it does the same.
We pulled the injectors and they all work, but it seems like they are injecting
a LOT of fuel. (The cold start injector is not receiving current and does not
work.) Fuel pressure is at 30 psi and seems to be holding pretty well.
Do you guys think this is the MAP sensor, or is there something else
that could be causing this situation? Anybody got a D-Jet MAP sensor they
think works right and that they would make me a good deal on? A new one is
out of the question....
Thanks for any help you can give,

Uniberp's answer is the most likely.
Couple of other things to ponder just in case, even though its probably stating the bleeding obvious.
Cold start injectors can leak (rare though this is) whether or not there is current going to them. Mechanical failure. Had a 164E which did it and it just flooded the engine.
Check for leaks in the vacuum hose for the map sensor.
Any chance you got a load of dud fuel? That happened to the 164 too. Area of the intake manifold under the throttle butterfly was awash. Had to poke a rag down there to soak the worst of it up. Dumped the fuel. Refilled with 'good' stuff. After the gnat's pee it had in the system eventually cleared it ran fine. Note: the rag soaked in the dud fuel lay on the shed floor overnight. It was still soaking wet the next day. That ain't petrol.

I'll second (or third!) the temp sensor. D-Jet does not have a computer, just an analogue controller (although it is often called a computer). It will not detect faults like this, and will not ignore way-out sensor readings.

A friend of mine filled his virtually new 7-series BMW, and literally down the road it died. Turns out the petrol station tank had a leak and his car was now filled with water. It happens.

      Have fun...

Check that water temp sensor connection at the front of the head. Open circuit makes it go full rich.
