Does anyone know of a source for a new tailgate gasket/seal? I have access to plenty of used ones, but if I am going to the trouble of replacing it again, I would like to put a new one on. I replaced it recently with a used one and it still leaks a little dust when driving on dirt roads.

I bought one from Vintage Import Parts off eBay. While it was not what I was looking for (a trunk seal) it was the seal for my '86 245. It slides into a "c" channel in the hatch. His website is http://www.vintageimparts.com.

I assume you have tried adjusting the bumpers and latch to allow for a tighter connection/seal of your tailgate to the main frame of the car.

barring that the only source I would know of is the dealer ... $ and time to get the part are necessary for that one... hopefully others know better source.
