What happened to my horns? 900

It seems that when the bumper was replaced on my 95 960 sedan, the shop said the horn contacts were corroded, so they removed the horns and put them in a box in the trunk. I plan to clean the contacts on the horns, replace the clips to the wires on the 960, and then replace the horns. Where are the horns located and how many are there? Any advice on this would be appreciated. I feel unsafe not having a horn.

    I was under the car, and had a look today. One horn has a wiring harness problem. Inside the white plastic coupling are two metal sleeves that fit snugly over the posts on the horns. Both these are gone on one side, so the wiring harness doesn't fit the horn snugly. Any idea what to do?

    Dear 960 Guy,

    May this find you well. I do not have a 960 wiring diagram. On 1993 and 1994 940s, the + wire is yellow, and the negative is blue, with a black tracer. Generally, most connectors are one-way only: if the connector has multiple wires, it can only be connected correctly. If the wires are separate, they will have differently shaped connectors, to make obvious, how they should be connected.

      Thanks for the input spook. The horn has two round posts that had clips on them. They are the same size and shape. I will replace the clips, and resolder them to the wires. Trouble is, I am not sure which wire would be positive by colour or if it has stripe on one and not the other. Are both horns on the drivers side?

    How can i tell positive from negative wire? 900

    If I'm under the car, how can I tell positive from negative wires, and how can I tell polarity on the horn itself?

    Agree with above...Somewhere in the front of the car. The 240 is right in back of the grill probably same spot.
