another tire question .can't find in archive 200 1989

Hi..a neighbor gave me a set of new tires he bought for a car that he no longer has. He claims they should be right for my car, and he used to work in a tire shop (means nothing, I know) but I figured I'd ask here for a second opinion.

The car: 240 sedan, 1989

The tires: P195 75/R14

Will these tires work for me?

thanks/mike

An alternate ... 200 1989

As others have said, they're mount up fine, though they are tall for a sedan.

However, it's the proper size for a 240 wagon ... which means instead of fitting it to your sedan, you should go out and buy a wagon to fit the tires on instead! :)

Indeed, they are a tad tall. If ultimate handling is your goal, you'll hate them. If you just want to drive your car, you'll like them just swell - especially at that price!

If you want to save money, use them. Otherwise:
