Light bulbs in center console 200

Hi,

I'm going to replace the light bulbs in my center console (the one lighting up the flip swithes, and those lighting up the heater controls) and in the seat heater switches (that is if I ever get them out, I tried pulling the up but they won't budge. Any tips?).

Before pulling of the console I'd like to get the bulbs first. Can anyone tell me which type/ designation I need?
Also, are all the bulbs the same (for the switches, console heater lighting?)

Any tips are welcome.

TIA,

Pull the parking brake plastic and remove the seat switches,, SAFER..then just pull out the light assemblys, think it is 2725 bulbs but not sure,, there is a post about the brighter numbered bulbs for the switches and gauges.. The bulbs that light up the heater/air conditioning vent buttons are insdie a lucite tube that is attached to the upper part of the center console,, just look for the openings above the buttons..

I believe they are all the same bulb. Sorry, I've never looked up the number, and it's very hard to read if anything is printed on them. The same bulb is used in the center console lights, the illuminated switches, and the round gauges. The instrument cluster, and the automatic shifter indicators have different bulbs that will be of no use to you. I think the warning lights at the bottom of the instrument cluster (alternator, oil pressure, Check Engine, etc) are all the same bulb as the switch bulbs.

I always get good used ones from old switches or instrument panels, but then I have lots of parts and junk hanging around my garage.

The seat heater switches are usually stuck in the console. They have "ears" on them that seem to lock them in, but really those do very little. You just have to push hard on them. You can spray them with some glass cleaner (like Windex) to help break up the dirt that keeps them stuck in place. Be careful not to snap the plastic around the parking brake handle- that piece is very expensive and hard to find used.
    Good luck!

      Thanks,

I eded up pulling the center console and taking one out. I went to my friendly neighbourhood mechanic and he had them. They're 1.2W 12V bean type bulbs (W1.2x4.6D is the Osram typenumber).

As for the heater switches, I managed to lose one of the metal clamps and drop it in the parking brake console :-( I can't seem to find it so I guess I'll just let it be. The switch still stays in its place with only one of the clamps yet just not as snug.

      Anyway,

      Thanks for the help.

      Dietbrand
