Window washer and side emblems 1800

Should my 63 Jensen P1800 have a window washer system? The pictures in the books that I have show them. The car is missing a lot of odds and ends so I suspect that under the cheap paint job that even Earl Sheib would be ashamed of there are holes filled with bondo where the washer nozzles go. Also should it have the side emblems that say "Volvo" and has the Swedish flag colors that goes on the roof between the rear and side windows? Again possible bondo covering.

Thanks,
Bill

A '63 could be a Jensen or a nearly identical Swedish-built car. If the serial number has a VA in it and the last digits are under 6000, it's a Jensen and should have the C pillar emblems. If it's VB and over 6000, it's Swedish and doesn't get them.

No idea if the washers were standard or an option, sorry.

The serial number is 4580 plus it has "Built by Jensen" on the id tag. It's going to get stripped down to bare metal for a paint job, so I'll see if it has holes for the nozzles.

I would think that your car should have both the windshield warsher system, as well as the emblems.

YOu could pretty easily identify the washer pump, which would be a little motor with an aluminum cover mounted on the brake booster bracket.

Best of luck finding the emblems...

Thanks Matt,

There's no pump, hoses nozzles etc. Like I said, this car was missing a lot of odds and ends when I bought it. It is a 95% rust free Texas car though, that's why I jumped at it when the chance came up to buy it. It's a drivable car as is, I just need to keep an eye out for little pieces like these as I restore it.

I'm purdy sure that for US spec cars, the washer would be standard...

If its a very late '63, it *might* not have come with the emblems. You'd have to look under the paint to see for sure I reckon.
