alright well my lowbeams dont work when you turn them on, but if you pull the switch for highbeams, they come on, so i asked the local volvo tech what the deal is and he said its either the relay under the hood or its the switch, well ive now replaced both and it still wont work, any ideas?

You can check for voltage but try reseating the connectors at the lights and any inline connections.

And added to that is a relay for just the low beams under dash by your left foot depending on how old that donkey is. 86- if memory works today. The relay itself is rarely the problem, it is the wiring in the relay socket.

Is this a sudden development? The low beam circuit runs through the light out indicator (I forget the proper term for it) -- could be a bad connection there? If this is a four-light system, the "low beam" is actually a high/low beam, so the high part of the outer light will come on at high beam.
