I can get a remanufacture for 325 from an outfit in Grand Prairie texas, but the place the I have the head at wants 375 to do essentially the same thing. Sheesh. I have looked at car-parts.com, and the prices are pretty much from 599 to 150. So many unknowns.

I hate having to deal with this kind of crap.

Local shops would do it for $275-$350: you get what you pay for. One guy's "remanufacture" is another guy's "new valve stem seals". Find out what they will do.

I got one two months ago off ebay - J&C Enterprises out of West Viginia. Ebay store that sells rebuilt heads for lots of makes. I assume you have a b-230 head?

Mine was $199 which included shipping and no additional core cost! That was cheaper than my local shop by far. Last time I saw his add, the price is now $250 buy it now! They were supposed to send a shipping tag for the core, but never did, so I still have it!

The head went on like a snap - valves were already adjusted and it sounds great so far. I also put on a new oil pump too!

Bob, I purchased 1 of his heads for the buy it now price $250, beautiful head though ive yet to install in, i have just finished putting all the stud's into it as i replaced all studs with new ones for look's and safety plus i just wanted too lol. cant wait to put it on. And i did not get a core retun label either so i still have the old one which doesnt do me any good anyways since i have 2 stripped exhaust stud holes.

Hey VolvosteeL:

I was very happy with mine. I had an old b-230 head as a spare I had taken to my local shop and they were going to charge 200 just to go through it and not even adjust the valves. The ebay head was a much better bargain. If you have any problems, let me know.

The head replacement process was not too bad, if you take your time. I did a new water pump and rod bearings too! I also bought new exhaust studs and put new head bolts in it as a precaution.
