Musty smell from A/C 200 1989

1989 244 DL converted to R134a by PO. The conversion included all the parts suggested including new compressor. Since purchase I installed an aux. electric fan, tested the system and refilled with R134a. The A/C works great, you could almost hang meat inside when it's going full blast. The problem is, about every 30 minutes during continued driving the air coming out of the vents starts feeling warmer and has a musty smell. The problem clears up in a few minutes and everything is back to normal, nice cold air and no smell. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Aloha,
Mike H
