thanks aye roll 200

Aye Roll - I posted on 10/9 about my "new" 1988 having a hesitation problem. Throttle body looks good. I suspect the AMM. When I unplugged the harness and removed the entire AMM, the car ran with the hesitation about the same as it was running when the AMM was connected. I have a new AMM on order from autozone and they will take it back if that is not the problem. Thanks for your input.

    you're welcome 200

Glad to help, but don't thank me till it proves that the new one fixes it. :)
It sure sounds like the problem. In the 87 I cited as an example, I could stall it in the driveway, simply loading up the engine against the brakes in drive. It would stall in about 15-seconds of doing this. Otherwise, it would idle happily for hours.
Curious, what does Autozone get for a new AMM? And is it really new Bosch or a rebuilt?

Autozone gets $210. for the Amm. You get $40. back when you return the core. It is rebuilt. I pick the part up this afternoon with my fingers crossed.
