Upper strut bearing 200

So... What's everyone's experience with upper strut bearings? Best place to buy? Any place to avoid? How about brand... ie, is ScanTech ok?

Or is this a "use only genuine Volvo parts" situation?

As always, thanks.

I bought some from the same parts house that I later found out used mainly ScanTech parts. Mine lasted well doing about 10,000 miles first on my old 244Ti then swapped to the 245Ti project (total miles put on before junking ~100) they were still OK after the 10K but to do it again I'd make sure I got SKF or Genuine Volvo. With air tools and lowering springs (no spring compressors needed) I can change them out in <2 hours for both sides but why take a chance.

I used SKF which is the OEM. They are a little more expensive than scantech and MTC, but I read here that they are easily worth the extra $. I only have 2 weeks on them so I can't comment on their durability except so far so good. They are available at FCPGroton and eEuroparts.
Best of luck to you,
Tom

I should probably let Dave Shannon answer this himself, but here's his answer to your question about Scantech:

Best of luck.
