I probably made a huge mistake but I sold it............... 200 1988

I sold my 240 to a friend today. I am sort of looking for a 740T and needed to sell this one first. The car ran flawlessly (it should since I fixed just about everything on it). I test drove a 744T today yet the sale didn't feel right so I didn't buy. The car was in a fender bender and the hood along with one fender didn't quite match the rest of the car. One headlight looked brand new and the other was tarnished. However, the car did scream when pushed.

sorry to report this. Maybe another 240 will come my way someday.

The 240 is such a beautiful car. So many of us, I imagine, are attached to our utilitarian-mobiles. I understand how you'd want a turbo, thought. Buti I love to drive slow and hear my tractor-engine-with-a-cam-shaft engine motor my wife and I about!

Good luck. Pick up a hobby 240 for sunday drives.

Skip the 700 series. Go directly to the 940, and get either an NA or a turbo, but avoid the 700's. If you must have a 700 get 1990 or later.

At least you can always buy anotherone. I will never sell mine, as I have become very attached to it. It is my favorite car to drive. Good luck with what ever you do, as long as your driving brick you can't be sorry.

Don't look back. I am too emotionally attached to my 240 sedan, but deep down inside, I want to sell it for a 940T wagon. Maybe your example will finally make me take the plunge. Good luck finding a 740T.

You probably just described a lot of us. I hate to admit it, but I'm terribly attached to my 1978 244, even though it's slow as molasses and with 3 kids we're now jammed to the gills everywhere we go. I've got my sights set on a XC70 wagon eventually...but the 244 simply will not die!!! And since I know the entire history of the 244, it's worth a lot more to me than I could ever get for it. Until the thing blows a motor, blows a tranny, or the bottom rusts out of it, I just can't bear to part with it.
