Repeated rear seal leaks 700

I replaced the rear seal and bushing on my 87 740 GLE at 140K. Now at 144K and 90 days it is leaking again. I have noticed a driveline vibration from a stop sign. Is it possible that the some mounts are weak and causing a vibration that is forcing the output shaft to vibrate and wear out the seal? Any other ideas, suggestions or help?

pull the driveshaft and make sure all the ujoints don't stick in any position. also make sure the center support is shot. good luck, chuck.

    Rookie,

Did you lube the lips of the seal and where it rides on the shaft with a bit of motor oil or ATF when you installed it? A dry seal will be damaged by the out put shaft in no time. Also the seal needs to be seated squarely into the seat and not cocked at an angle. An improperly seated seal will also leak.
