Timing mark? 200

Hi, first time here. I have a question regarding the timing mark on an 88 240. When I set my timing, is the crankshaft pulley turning clockwise or counter clockwise. This question might sound silly but i'm trying to set the timing myself to save money. Thanks a lot.

before you start, keep in mind the balancer will slip when old and the mark on the pulley can move. pull the upper cover loose and use the mark on the cam gear to find 0. then look at the timing mark on the pulley. if the mark is not there, then use paint or something to mark 0. set the timing and think about getting a new balancer. usuaaly, they just spin but sometimes they move out into the radiator on into the timing cover. good luck, chuck.

Clockwise, as viewed from the front.
Leaning over the passenger side fender, pull up on your wrench. 15/16" socket.
