I'd look for problems with the air intake hoses under the hood, because they can be attacked by oil leakage.
Look in general for oil leaks around the front of the engine and try to see down the side by the turbo itself- notorious oil leak spot.
Coolant leaks are likely at the top of the water pump, same as any 240.
Look for clean coolant, oil, and transmission fluid.
Turn the wheels hard left or right and look at the suspension bushings: you can see the sway bar links (usually all cracked) and the cone bushings- neither is expensive but both likely need replacement. At the rear, the only thing likely to wear out are the shock absorbers, so other than looking for obvious oil leakage from them, not much to see.
Look for idle-speed vibration when in gear- can mean bad engine mounts. And plan on a new heater control valve- every 740 needs one.
Look for a failing headliner- lousy job to replace that stuff. A bad power sunroof motor is no fun either- expensive whether new or used.
Look for rust starting at the floor just behind the front wheels, and under the battery (look from below). Finally, look for blue or black smoke out the back during hard acceleration. Black = intake air leaks. Blue = turbo on its way out.
