hesitation on my new 88 brick 200

I am the proud new owner of a 1988 240 dl. It's pretty clean with over 129,000 on it. (odometer doesn't work). Everything is in pretty good working order, but there is hesitation on acceleration. It is a 5 speed. I just changed plugs, wires, condensor, rotor, and fuel filter. Runs a little better but still hesitates. Any suggestions. Thanks

CLean the throttle body, and inspect everything around for intake leaks. The big hose from AMM to throttle body particularly. Inspect vacuum lines and replace any crusty ones.
Make sure the timing is set right. And probably plan on replacing the fuel filter.

Note that the odometer gears are available in reproduction- or steal a gear out of a good junkyard unit. That's often the cause of the speedo working but odometer doesn't.

    Ray,
I have a 1988 240DL. Mine is begining to hesitate on acceleration when the gas tank has less than 1/4 in it. The lower the fuel level the worse this gets. I assume this is caused by the small rubber take up hose in the fuel sender assembly starting to crack and fail. Thus it runs totally fine with a full tank so I keep it that way. You also might try to clean the throttle body as this does wonders for making the engine run right.
