Identifying 240 speaker wires? 200 1990

I'm putting an aftermarket radio/tape deck in my 240 sedan. I pulled out the oem radio (dash mount) and am at a loss to i.d. the correct pairs of wires that correspond to the left-right front-back speakers. Any tips? Thanks.

When you pull out the radio, there is 9 prong plug. Rotate the plug so the side with 3 semi circles is facing up. The 4 wires in the lower left corner are front speakers. The wiring for this car is funky because the radio has 2 grounds and 1 positive which is always on. The power to the radio is switched on and off with one of the 2 grounds. This is totaly ass backwards from every radio I have ever seen. I ran a wire from fuse number 1 to switch the radio on and off with the ignition. Good luck.

I used to use an AM/FM portable radio (mono) that had an earphone jack and used an old earphone wire w/ the end cut off and would wire it up and when ya got tunes/news/NASCAR comin at ya you can ID the speaker...

You can check which pairs of wires go to which speakers by taking a small battery (AAA or AA) and momentarily connecting the wires across the battery.

This will produce a click from the appropriate speaker, (this won`t damage the speaker)
