Front Suspension 700

A couple of weeks ago I replaced the front struts, cone rod bushings, ball joints and strut mounts on my 90 745 and the ride still seems a bit harsh. The struts are KYB GR2s. The steering and ride feel tight, much better than before, but I steel feel even smaller bumps in the road. Any ideas on how to improve it? Or is it just the way a 14 year old volvo wagon rides?
Thanks

    Hi Jersey Guy,

KYB's are sort of a sport shock and therefore they're pretty firm. My 745T has them in the front and it's not exactly super smooth over bumps, but there's also not a lot of body movement. I would say that the only way it'll get smoother is if something changes with the tires or you put different shocks in. I wish there was a good way to make it a little smoother too, without loosing handling, but I don't think it can be done in these cars.

The only good alternative to this is to keep more of a stock strut cartridge, Sachs or whoever makes them now, and go with the IPD sway bars.
Friends who did this mod said the car was still smooth.
I know our 88 with stock struts and otherwise new parts was very very smooth. Extremely comfortable car.

Probably handles much better, though - right? Sounds like my wagon with 215K (91 745t). I installed the same strut carts on the front, and it is pretty much the same.
One thing I need to do in the future is new shocks on the rear - with new springs. That will level the car better, and i would bet that it will make a difference in the way the front end handles and rides.
