Specifications and the like... 120-130

Dear all,

Reading the thread regarding "winterizing" a 122 and so - I just wonder, Is it hard for you guys to find original specifications and so? At the moment I'm building on my site (which is not "open" for visitors yet) and on my tasks-too-do-paper I've also included pages of specifications and so (oil, measurrements bla..bla..) - And, I just wandered if it would be more help than I thought for you guys in America for example?

Anyway -everything I have from Volvo is ofcourse in metric - could you help me "translating" the papers?

1 milimeter = ? (inches)
1 Liter = ? (gallons -whatever)

and so?

Thanks..

/Soren

I have an early sixties set of green manuals for the B18 engines, and Volvo published them, in English, entirely in Imperial measure. I have had them for nearly thirty years, and they are among my most prized possessions.

Hej Soren: I'm sure this sort of information would form a valuable reference on either side of the ocean and around the world. In Canada, we converted to the metric system in the early 70s and the USA were supposed to follow, but they didn't. So people my age were brought up using the Imperial system and are still stuggling with "metrification" (that's what we called the conversion).

1 milimeter = 0.03937 inches
1 centimeter = 0.3937 inches
1 Liter = 0.2642 US gallons
1 Liter = 0.22 Imperial gallons
1 Kilometer = 0.6215 miles

1 inch = 25.4 mm
1 inch = 2.54 cm
1 US gallon = 3.785 L
1 Imperial gallon = 4.55 L
1 mile = 1.609 km

That would be extremely helpful! I'm a new 122 owner (without an owners manual...) and I find that every little thing I need to do takes longer as it takes awhile to track down the correct info bits.

The list is great but the info is spread over thousands of posts and takes awhile to find that one needle in this great haystack.

I also have a 79 MGB so am used to trolling for info but I've found a few sites that I use very frequently as they have organized all of the relative information. Even obtuse information like lugnut spacing and wheel offset.

I would be glad to help in any way I can as I work for a company that does web & software development for ski resorts.

Thanks for the initiative!

Owners and workshop manuals show up fairly regularly on ebay.
Do a search on Volvo Manual 122 and you'll probably turn one up in a week
or so. DON'T get Chilton! Hold out for the Green Volvo manual (which was
a blue looseleaf notebook with a bunch of green booklets in it). Be sure
and check the pub date because there were quite a few changes between 66 and
67, so you want as late a manual as you can get. If it doesn't show the pub
date ask the seller for it. It appears in the white rectangle that has the
description of each booklet or on the back of the booklet in the format "11/67"
etc.

I lucked out and was able to get 15 booklet of the shop manuals(the green one)off of ebay and got a nifty binder for it as well. I also picked up the haynes manual (cant go wrong with too many docs).
