Headlight swap? 200

Is it possible to install the 82 model 244 turbo 4 headlight real glass system in an 89 244 that has only the two ugly plastic, fogged, dimmer than night, stlye headlights?? I have the turbo hood and grill but the grill is damaged, so I would need another one if that is required..I looked at it for a long time and can not figure out how to make it work as I think there a difference in size..Also the side turn signal and marker lights do not look like they would fit correctly also.. Any help would be nice.. Max

Sorry 200

Sorry, no. The problem is that (1) the parking lights attach to (and are supported by) the headlight supports, and (2) the parking lights' shapes changed over the 1985-86 transition, so that '86-on parking lights don't fit in the pre-'86 fenders, and the pre-'86 parking lights don't fit the '86-on fenders.

So, you can't mount the '82 parking lights (to attach to the '82 headlights that you want) in your '89 fenders -- unless you can figure out how to attach your '89 parking lights to your '82 headlight mounts. I'm sure there is some way to do this, but it's just that you're left to your own ingenuity to do this -- it won't be from completely "stock" parts, I'm afraid.

Actually ... 200

You can attach the 86+ corner lights ... but to the fender instead.

Here's my page on doing a
7" round headlight swap
