Power seat recline - one side tilts other side don't.... 700 1987

'87 760T the right side won't recline, left side will so it twists...

I have the seat out and the recline mechanisms exposed but I can't figure out why the one side will tilt and the other won't (they are now off by about a tooth and a half).

the cables for both sides are connected to the gearboxes could one of the cables have disconnected from the motor?

is this a common problem with a common repair solution?

thanks

jack

    Thanks guys,

I should have checked the FAQ's first... the stretched cable (sheathing?) was the problem... I chopped off some of the metal ends with a hacksaw on both cable ends and now it works like a charm.

It could also be the gearbox on the side that doesn't move. That was the problem with my 780. Your gearbox is cheaper and more available used...be glad.

    Hello Jack:

Stretched cable on the side that's not moving-- it's in the 700/900FAQ under seats. Easy $0 fix...

    Good luck!
