240 won't start 200

This morning my '87 sedan wouldn't budge. It turns over but won't catch. I checked the fuse to the fuel pump and its fine. Any ideas?
Thanks

I may be way off, but my brother's '85 240 just had this problem a couple of weeks ago. It needed all sorts of things replaced, such as the plugs, plug wires, coil, but it still just turned over like a champ but wouldn't start. Someone on here thought maybe the timing belt had skipped a tooth or something, so I checked that and his belt was worn so we replaced that too, but still no luck.

After all that we ended up changing his fuel filter (after someone came over and sprayed starter fluid up the air intake and it started right up), and that did the trick. His old filter felt a bit heavy with crap it must have been catching. It was a bear getting the fittings off the old filter though and we broke the little plastic tube between the filter and the main fuel pump so I had to go to a junk yard and find those parts, but the new fuel filter solved the problem.

Anyway, its just an idea, and if you haven't ever changed the filter, or its been a long time, then it might be worth a try.

Take a deep breath and exhale slowly. First make sure the cam is turning while cranking; view through the oil filler. Next pull a plug. Examine it for signs of fuel. Check for spark. If you have spark, say to yourself "thank goodness it isn't the Hall sensor". Next listen for your fuel pump. Lacking fuel is usually the fuel pump relay or the injection system fuse holder and wiring, by the battery.

BTW, which fuse is that one you checked?

Check for spark at plugs or the main coil lead. I've had the coil lead pull right out of the coil due to the rocking of the engine on its soft mounts.

If spark is present pull the main LH-jet 25-amp fuse on the fender right by the coil. White plastic holder with two fairly large-gauge red wires going in. Clean its prongs, then reinsert. This fuse (and the holder) corrodes and is a common no-start culprit.

Did you check the big fuel inj fuse under the hood?
With the key off, disconnect the AMM and see if it starts.

    if not check for spark
