i'm pretty sure i need new struts and springs all around, and the repair shops i've asked in st. paul, mn give me varying prices. any other quotes?
i also need 4 new tires, which i'm sure will cost 300!

    The rear shocks and springs are very very easy to do yourself. I did the ones in my '90 745 in about an hour from start to finish and I've only got a bit of mechanical experience. I let a shop do the front struts though.

    www.fpcgroton.com has good prices on shocks/struts and springs.

    The Brick Board has terrific instructions on replacing struts and springs.
