The sunroof 1990 740 seems to be misadjusted by 1 turn on closing. After I reach the lock I push the button and crank one more time to fully close the roof. Does anyone know how to realign the mechinism with the roof position ? Thanks.

    Remove the handle and the plastic trim panel behind it. (Torx screws)

    Push the handle back on and wind the roof until it is in the proper position using your normal trick.

    Remove the three? screws holding the gearbox to the roof and pull it out disengaging the gear from the cables.

    Wind the gearbox back to the closed detent and refit it.

    Try the roof, if it closes level you`re done, if not,adjust by one tooth and re-try.

    Once you have removed the gearbox it will be easy to see the way it works.
