2-door vs. 4-door #'s in production runs 120-130

What was the ratio of 2-door to 4-door models of 122s overall in the entire 122 production run? Did it vary from year to year? Do 2-doors have a bit more of a collector "valuation" because of rarity, and does this vary from year to year?

    Collector valuation? 120-130

    Hi,

If you americans really wanted a "collectors item" - you should go for a "Volvo 121 Quick" or so..

The Volvo 121 Quick model was a "scrabed" version with B18A-engine, M30 gearbpx (Yes! -only 3 forward gears)
-besides motor/gearbox, the model was fitted with no trims on windshield (front/rear), no cigarlighter! -instead the dashboard-hole was closed with a nice "crome-buttom", rear side-windows mounted directly into frame, "un-openable"

But just as with stamps, coins, electrical toy-trains and so.. People allways want, whats on the other side of the river.. "The grass is allways greener on the other side.."

The much more important thing is:

Love your Volvo - it loves you right back!!

    :-) Cheers!

    /Soren

Yes, true enough. I find much reward in "just" my four door model...

I'd say that 2 door models are worth a bit more just for the fact that folks like 2 door cars...even though they made more of 'em. I also think that wagons may be as collectable, if not more than 2 door models.

Too bad they never made a 2 door wagon..

Unless I'm reading the numbers wrong at the vlvlworld.com site, it seems that >more< 2-doors were produced than 4's overall. It's strange then that I seem to see more 4s on the streets in daily driving (around Portland at least...) than I see 2s.

    ?

The numbers are right, but the last two years of production -- which were all 2-doors (except a very small run of wagons) -- were not sold in the U.S. It's possible there were more 4-door models than 2-door imported here... I don't have any figures for that.
