Poor performance after tranny swap.. Help please 200

Hi,
Last week finally change my old AW71 to a good AW70 on my 240 Turbo 83, before the change if feel more power from the engine, but after the swap If feel poor response of the car, for example about 2 years when the old tranny works fine, sometimes I press the pedal al 100% with the brake pressed I see the turbo goes to the midle of the yellow part, now I make the same and only goes to the first part of the yellow on the turbo´s gauge.
Is there a vaccum leak, or where to start the check. Any advice thanks!

Edwin

Maybe the torque converter? 200

One of the differences may be the torque converter -- one of the two transmissions may have had one that was defective.

I'm not quite sure what you were describing as your "test" [i.e., gas pedal 100%, brakes on], but it sounds like you were testing the "stall rpm" of the converter.

Thanks by your answer,
How can I check the torque converter? and how I can test if there a air leak of my brick.

Thanks,

Edwin
