connecting speedo cable to overdrive tranny 120-130

While I have the proper length, longer speedo cable for soon to be installed overdrive tranny, must I have a special "right angle" device between cable and OD casing? I've heard of this part, but not sure if I'll need it for this application. This is the D type OD, going into my '68 122.

Sorry. Deleted my reply, which was brilliant for a PV 544, but probably of not much use for an Amazon. I agree with Phil and John.

If the cable is long enough, and you have enough clearance to keep the bends smooth and large radius, no need for the angle drive. They can be troublesome.

And silly expensive now. It seems to me as if you either need an angle drive or a longer speedo cable, not both. Without it the speedo cable will tend to hang out near the exhaust pipe, which isn't the best thing for it I'd guess.

Thanks for your advice folks, sounds like what I have will work just fine!
